Bought two. Short circuit in a plug for one of the cables. Since they were new, I misinterpreted the issue an returned the connected device instead of the cable! This is clearly my mistake but it is nevertheless true that one of the cables was not functional.
i love these things. In the FX loop of another pedal, like a delay; with an octave pedal in the loop. fantastic.
