Imperial strings are characterized by medium tension. The blue silver thread indicates a stronger pull.

Since 1947, Albert Augustine's company has created the highest quality nylon guitar strings. By playing on the variety of colors and tensions of Augustine, you can choose for yourself the scale you want. If the treble on your instrument is important, try Imperials Blue strings. The harmony will occur quite naturally between the high tones and the robustness of the bass of the blue strings.


The modern iteration of the original "Augustine" string played by Andres Segovia. Featuring low tension basses and a duleet tone that evokes the sound of the old masters. Classic/Black can now be enjoyed with consistently perfect intonation.

These are the original Augustine guitar strings, an intrinsic part of the classical guitar revolution this century.

Albert Augustine, an instrument maker, found himself pressured by none other than Andrés Segovia to manufacture and sell nylon guitar strings. He did so, insuring the rise of a new generation of concert players and lending his own part to the cultivation and completion of the famous Segovia sound.

Augustine Classic Strings are available with Blue, Red, Black or Gold basses.

Augustines Classic Strings are a light-gauge treble string.
