The Microphone The almost 7 cm long XCM-50 transmits even the finest nuances with its gold-coated 1/2" condenser capsule and can therefore also be used at a greater distance. However, the XCM-50 also has an internal pop filter that effectively prevents the typical interference noise when talking at close range. A special DSP chip is built into the microphone, which in conjunction with the "UNIFY" software allows the signal to be processed with a high-pass filter, noise gate, compressor and the legendary Aphex® Exciter or Big Bottom to edit. The result: a convincing professional speech sound, as known from radio stations or commercials - crystal clear, undistorted and optimally intelligible. The XCM-50 has the Revolution® Built-in preamp that brings even quiet voices to a full, healthy level - noise-free, of course. The XCM-50 is a typical cardioid microphone, i.e. sound from the side and from behind is significantly dampened, the reception angle to the front is approx. 90°. The microphone can be pivoted precisely in its fork mount and thus perfectly aligned with the speaker. On the back are the 3.5 mm TRS headphone jack and the USB-C port. The XCM-50 has a really powerful headphone amplifier - so if you want, you can really crank it up; the volume is adjusted with the rotary control on the front. The Software The purchase of an XCM-50 entitles you to a free download of a lifetime license for UNIFY. The software was developed by RØDE in cooperation with professional gamers and streamers and offers a nicely tidy interface with practical drag&drop functionality.
