The Casio PX-870 is an excellent value digital piano, ideal for beginners and intermediate pianists. ✅ Key Strengths • Assembly and Structure: Intuitive assembly (can be done alone). The furniture is robust, stable, and of good quality. • Keyboard: Very pleasant keyboard with a good weight that leans towards heavier keyboards. This is a major advantage for musicians who also play an acoustic piano. • Sound Quality: Powerful and high-quality sound for the price range. It has a relatively soft timbre with a slightly rounded attack, which is similar to the sound of a harpsichord in Pianissimo. The dynamics are good. The other sounds (strings, winds) are also of good quality. • Headphones: Good quality and immersion with headphones, with two practical outputs for playing with two people. 🛑 Areas for Improvement • Accuracy: The rounded attack makes the sound lack incisiveness and power, especially in staccato, compared to higher-end models (e.g., Roland with hammer simulation). • Overall Sound: The audio rendering is a bit "laid back" (muted), whether with headphones or without, and may seem slightly "dampened" at first. The bass is also muted, leaving the lower-midrange. • Features: Using the settings (e.g., reverb) is simple, but requires a reference guide to get started. The triple pedal is a welcome addition. 🎯 Verdict Very satisfied with the purchase for the price. • Recommended for: Beginners and intermediates. • Warning: For advanced pianists or those taking conservatory lessons, you will need to consider a higher-end range (Casio GP-310/510, or brands like Roland/Yamaha/Kawai) for dynamics, sound, and accuracy closer to acoustic pianos. There is no Bluetooth. The three pedals have the same resistance (unlike acoustic pianos, which have a lower resistance on the central pedal and a higher resistance on the left pedal, which can confuse a pianist). The other sounds are good but not as good as the other three major brands. The delivery was fast and in perfect condition 👍.
