Behringer CP3A-O Oscillator Controller

The first System 55, 35 and 15 synth modules came out in the early 70s and tended to be extremely expensive. They were mainly all discrete transistor designs as op-amps at the time were very high cost. The discrete circuitry gave the modules a very distinctive sound and were used by artists like Keith Emerson, Stevie Wonder, Tangerine Dream and so many more, giving us some of the greatest records we’ve ever heard. Modular synths were a landmark development in electronic music and today, it’s about to get better. Enter the Behringer CP3A-O OSCILLATOR CONTROLLER module. An authentic reproduction of the circuitry from the “Modular 55 and 35” series mixers used by the world’s most famous pop, rock and jazz musicians. Now musicians can build their very own, unique, synthesizer that can fit in a standard Eurorack case for a very affordable price. Mix and match with specific modules to customize your synth and complement the genre of music you play or go all out and have a room filled from floor to ceiling with modules that’ll fulfill any synth geek’s wildest dreams. The CP3A-O Module features 4 routing switches that enable you to send Control Voltages to one or more oscillators. Switches 1 to 3 are connected to Control Inputs 1, 2 and 3; switch 4 can be used to route an external Control Voltage signal via a 3.5 mm TS plug and can be controlled by an attenuator knob. You can route up to three external control voltage signals to any of the three summed Control Inputs. Signals from these inputs can be combined by flipping any of the matching routing switches on. The parallel jacks at the bottom will route the final combined voltage signal to any module they’re connected to. A great way to utilize the CP3A-O is to have it drive multiple 921A or B oscillator modules which can allow you to create more intricate patches and hours and hours of fun. Installing the CP3A-O is simple as it was designed to fit into a standard Eurorack case. Just connect the power cables to the power supply and mount the module using the included screws. This allows for the CP3A-O to be mixed with other synth modules for a truly unique set up.
