Since the mid-80's, HK audio has made a name for itself in the field of audio PA. HK Audio Portable Sound offers highly intelligent audio tools that are tailored to the needs of each group of singers, lecturers, musicians, DJs, coaches and presenters, with excellent sound quality, simple operation and an attractive price. Made in Germany.

The active high-performance POLAR column PA systems are so popular because they offer everything users want from a column PA: easy to transport, quick to set up, and easy to operate. POLAR stands for big sound in a compact design. Six efficient, lightweight 3" neodymium midrange drivers in a low-resonance aluminum profile ensure particularly high-resolution, undistorted reproduction of instruments and the human voice. The 1" precision tweeter, combined with the constant directivity horn, offers a wide dispersion of 120° for optimal sound coverage of the audience. A completely newly developed connector ensures a secure and smooth connection between the components. Without the need for spacers, the POLAR MK 2 is perfectly aligned even in applications where, for example, a seated audience needs to be sound-covered. The column elements are delivered in a space-saving padded carrying case, which offers even greater security and protection.

Nachdem ich lange nach einer mittelkleingrossen mobilen PA Front gesucht, recherchiert, verglichen, Videos und Testberichte geschaut habe, war mir klar, es soll ein Pärchen HK Polar 12 werden. Just in dem Moment wurde die MK2 vorgestellt und die Händler haben sich einen kleinen 'Preiskampf' geliefert. Musix hat den gewonnen (andere waren aber nicht wirklich viel teurer), und konnte auch gleich liefern.

Nun zu den Geräten, die ich meistens paarweise benutze:
-Reggae-DJ Party in einem Dachlokal (alte, ausgebaute Scheune) für ca. 50 Gäste: Die ganze Hütte hat vibriert, die Bässe sind brachial für so einen Raum, die Mitten und Höhen extrem klar! Der DJ und die Gäste hatten viel Freude, ein Nachbar etwas weniger...
-Reicht für eine kleine Rock/Popband auf einer 1. August Feier im Gemeindesaal. Da gemischtes Publikum wurde die Lautstärke eher zurückhaltend eingestellt. Vorne bei der Bühne hats gerockt, hinten an der Bar konnte man noch normal reden.
-Die gleiche Band Outdoor auf dem Platz vor einer Kirche, ca. 150 Besucher aber etwas auf dem Gelände verteilt.: Mit einem zusätzlichen 15' Subwoofer und zwei kleinen Delays (einfache Aktivboxen nach ca. 12m) top! Laut genug und angenehm. Die Stimme des Lead Sänger kommt richtig gut durch! 
-Ein Turm alleine als Bluetooth-Speaker zu Hause in der Wohnung: Master auf -20dB, den Sub Nachbarverträglich auf ca. 1/2 bis 2/3. Das geht und tönt erstaunlich gut!

Die beiden Polar 12 alleine reichen nicht für eine grosse Goaparty, Rocknacht oder ein Heavymetal-Openair, sind für kleinere bis mittlere Veranstaltungen aber eine sehr gute, einfach zu transportierende Lösung (ein Kofferraum voll). Genau dafür habe ich sie gekauft. Es kommt 'unten raus' schon ziemlich Dampf, je nach Situation kann ein zusäzlicher Sub aber trotzdem sinnvoll sein. Die Mitten und die Höhen kommen sehr präzise ohne gross etwas einstellen zu müssen. Sprache wird sehr klar und verständlich übertragen. Das System ist also auch durchaus auch für eine Ansprache oder Moderation geeignet (dafür reichen auch die Varianten mit dem kleinen Sub). Durch das Säulenprinzip mit relativ grosser Abstrahlfläche ist auch die Feedback Anfälligkeit eher gering. Man bekommt es aber hin, wenn man unbedingt will.

Bluetooth funktioniert auf Anhieb, ist aber nicht wirklich spitzenmässig. Es gibt kein AptX und die Reichweite ist auch nicht gerade überragend. Der Klang ist aber in Ordnung. Allerdings habe ich schon mehrmals Abbrüche gehabt die in einem digital tönenden Krachen und Summen Enden. Die treten aber nur mit meinem Mobiltelefon auf, vom PC her ist es noch nie aufgefallen. Das Mobiltelefon macht das aber auch nur mit den HK, sonst nie. Neu pairen und es funktioniert wieder. Die Stereofunktion 'TWS' funktioniert nur mit einer Bluetooth-Quelle! Sobald man mit Kabel rein geht, kann man die zweite Box NICHT per Bluetooth an die erste Koppeln. Das kommt aus manchen Testberichten nicht so klar rüber, war mir aber von Anfang an logisch.

Sinnvolles Zubehör das ich mir noch dazu gekauft habe: Zwei 20m Rollen mit Hybridkabel (Strom+Audio) und je ein 2m XLR Kabel zum Anschluss an die Rolle bzw. direkt an der Box, je nach Situation. Zwei einfache Möbel-Rollbretter um die Subs zu schieben statt zu tragen (sind immerhin knapp über 20kg).

Fazit: 
-Sehr guter Klang, vor allem Sprache und Gesang kommt sehr klar
-Sie sind sehr universell einsetzbar als PA Front, Bluetooth-Speaker, Delay-Line (Delay ist eingebaut, falls man nicht schon am Mischpult einen verzögerten Ausgang hat)
-Für den Preis unschlagbar, jedenfalls kenne ich aktuell nichts besseres.
-Ich gebe meine beiden HK Polar 12 MK2 nicht mehr her!
